Andrew Shinn hopes that Horncastle Town's extended wait for action will only leave the squad more pumped up ahead of Saturday's trip to Grimsby Borough Reserves.

The Wongers’ Lincs League clash at CGB Humbertherm was postponed on Saturday.

Shinn and joint boss Mickey Stones had challenged their team to bounce back in emphatic style following their 1-0 defeat to Wyberton.

But now Shinn hopes that will finally happen this weekend.

“We were gutted we didn’t play on Saturday,” he said.

“We asked the lads for a reaction, and things had looked really good in training in the week.

“But it’s one of those things that happens.

“It’s frustrating but we’ll want to train well again this week and do it this time instead.”

Borough’s second string are no slouches, having left promotion favourites Skegness Town with a 6-5 victory at the weekend.
