Firefighters reponses tested in fire exercises
Mid UK recycling, a Quarrington based company, took staff from agencies including Lincolnshire County Council, the Environment Agency, and Lincolnshire Police on a tour of a materials recycling facility in Caythorpe, owned by Mid UK recycling.
Chris Mountain, manager director of Mid UK Recycling, said: “The event went really well and allowed agencies and firefighters to see our site operating and recognise some of the potential risks that we face.”

Hide AdStaff then took part in a training exercise without crew (TEWC) at Brant Broughton Fire Station, and an evening exercise at the Ancaster Mid UK recycling site.
Mr Mountain added: “Fires on waste and recycling sites have been in the press a lot over the past few years and we ourselves have experienced them in the past.
“We therefore feel exercises such as this play a crucial role in ensuring the best procedures and practices are in place should anything occur in the future.”
