Was this row of derelict cottages in Queen Street, Boston, about to be transformed into a restaurant?

This was the question being asked 20 years ago as planning permission was submitted to change the use of the building (numbers one to seven) from residential to restaurant.

The boarded-up cottages had stood empty for a number of years, but were now felt to be in a prime position due to the construction of an Aldi next door to them.

The homes had lost their gardens many years earlier when Queen Street was widened to improve the flow of traffic from Haven Bridge to Sleaford Road.
