PRAISE is being heaped upon Alford Silver Band for its summer programme.
The band is proving to be a huge attraction at lots of local events with its varied repertoire and high quality performance.
Musical director Louise Needham said: "We don't have a set programme. We have perfected a great variety of numbers and a
re therefore able to match the mood of any audience.
"We don't rehearse every number every week, otherwise the band might get stale with them. By ringing the changes, I keep the band on their toes and I know we can play anything from a large repertoire at any event."
The band has performed at Alford John Spendluffe Technology College's prize-giving, the Bilsby Show, Gunby Hall's open day, the Sutton on Sea Carnival, and the Tower Gardens and Church Farm Museum in Skegness.
Band chairman Martin Briggs is thrilled with the response. He said: "We are getting some marvellous comments. Many event organisers said we have been the highlight of their event and are already looking to book us again for next year.
"We always try to perform to a high standard and it's very encouraging for the players to know we are getting it right."
The band will perform in Sutton on Sea on August 18, at the LIVES fete in Mumby on August 23, and in Alford's market square over the bank holiday weekend.
